Vicky Ann Klang was born on June 6, 1947 to parents George and Merle (Hopkey) Steenhard in Hampton, Iowa. She was the oldest of three children. Growing up, Vicky was the cook for her family while they worked on their farm. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1965.

Vicky met her husband, David Klang, when she was a sophomore in high school in 1963. The couple married on October 16, 1965 in Meservey, Iowa. To this union, Vicky and David were blessed with three daughters. Vicky's deep love, commitment, and dedication to Dave was witnessed by everyone who knew her.

Vicky spent most of her life working out of her home as housewife and mother. She found joy in babysitting children and especially caring for her family. Vicky was an outstanding cook and loved to bring friends and family together over a meal; she often searched for recipes, looking for new things for her family to enjoy. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, and the vast love and devotion she had for her family meant they always came first. Vicky loved to decorate and make her home warm, cozy, and welcoming. Everyone in the family knew they could walk in at any time and find something to eat in her kitchen. She enjoyed making wreaths, flower arrangements, and treasured items for her family.

Vicky was a longtime member of Hanford Community Church, where she was known for her immense love for Jesus and her famous taco salad.

Vicky is survived by her loving husband, David Klang; three daughters, Lorie Smith, Karrie Jo (Mark) VanderPloeg, and Kristie (Chad) Bull; grandchildren, Al Smith, Lauren (Vince) Battistoni, Rachael and James Smith, Elizabeth, Alex (Tori), Emily, Mikayla, and Kaitlyn VanderPloeg, and Tyler and Brianna Bull; great grandchildren, Lana, Emric, Rowan, Ava, Aubrey, Alijah, and Asher; sister, Deb (Tom) Weaver; brother, Gary (Darla) Steenhard; mother-in-law, Delores Klang; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many people that loved and appreciated her.
