Terry Clausen Beavers

Terry K. (Clausen) Beavers, age 90, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. A private family inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City at a later date.

Terry was born on July 6, 1935, the daughter of Albert and Eva (DeMaris) Torgeson in Lyle, Minnesota. After graduating from Plymouth High School in 1953, she worked primarily as a secretary throughout her life. Her first marriage, to Vern William “Rusty” Clausen, was blessed with seven children, to whom she was a loving mother.

Terry was a longtime and faithful member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City, as well as an Auxiliary member of the VFW. She held passion in equal measure for gardening and dancing. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren came into her life, she greeted each one with the love and care they needed to blossom, just as she did for the flowers in her garden. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, and one grandson.

She is survived by her five daughters, one son, and many grand- and great-grandchildren.
