Susan Bates-Staudt

Susan Bates-Staudt, 60, of Rockford passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family of Susan Bates-Staudt.

Susan Bates-Staudt was born on May 5, 1964, in Perry to parents Edwin and Sharon (Wilson) Bates. Susan attended Roosevelt High School. In 2010, Susan graduated from Kaplan University. Susan worked as a Team Lead with Citi Group in Des Moines before working as an Outreach Specialist with MercyOne Medical Center North Iowa for many years.

In 2007, Susan was united in marriage to Terry Staudt in Des Moines. Susan loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader, cat lover and found Egyptian culture very interesting.

Susan is survived by her husband, Terry Staudt; children, Zachary Bates, Jacob Staudt; grandchildren, Braden Espinosa, Kalen Staudt; brothers, Donald Bates, Edwin (Lisa) Bates; brother-in-law, Gerald (Kelly) Staudt; many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Matthew Bates.
