Shirley Jean Roush, 78, of Mason City, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the State Center Specialty Care Center. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Interment will be held in the Mount Vernon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of Shirley Roush. 

Shirley was born on June 1, 1945, in California to parents Carl and Arletta (Becker) Aspland.  She graduated from Mason City High School. After high school she attended DMACC becoming a nurse and working at various nursing homes in Iowa as well as being a stay-at-home mom for a period of time.

She had a love for gardening, bird watching, crocheting, animals, music and attending her church.

Shirley is survived by her brother Larry (Sharon) Aspland; children, Shawn (Christina) Roush, Stormi Roush, Stephen Roush; grandchildren, Jared Roush, Cara Roush, Samantha (Peder) Larson, Jodi (Erik) Guerra, Trinity Roush, Zach Roush, Hailey Roush; six great grandchildren; niece, Samantha Aspland; nephew, Josh Aspland.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Arletta Aspland.
