Shawn L. Rockwell

Shawn L. Rockwell, 51, of Mason City, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. The family requests all to dress casually. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family of Shawn Rockwell.

Shawn Lee Rockwell was born June 11, 1975, the son of Gary Rockwell, Jr. and Cathy (Berneman) Rogers. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1993.

Shawn worked in hospitality for many years, first at Burger King and then at Pizza Ranch. Most recently, he was employed at Hy-Vee East. Shawn enjoyed playing Little League Baseball as a child, and has been a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings since junior high. He liked watching wrestling with his friends and boxing with his cousin, Karen England. He was also a collector of Star Wars memorabilia.

Shawn is survived by his children, Jessica Rockwell, Helen (Jake) Goodrich, Mary (fiancé Drew) Rockwell, Emma Neve and Darik Rockwell; mother, Cathy (Dale) Rogers; brother, Jason (Dana) Rockwell; nephews, Garett and Carter Rockwell; aunts, Debra (Robert) Tuttle and Patsy Berneman, and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents; uncles, Bill and Dale Berneman; aunt, Diane Berneman; cousin, Mike Carpenter; and uncles Brian and Steve Rockwell.
