Ruth Lonora Dalton

Ruth Lanora Dalton, 100, of Mason City, IA, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 100 S. Pierce St., with Rev. Paul Collier officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the church service. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ruth Lanora Dalton was born in Highmore, South Dakota on December 31, 1917 to parents William and Mabel (Comstock) Hale. She graduated high school in 1936. On December 22, 1938 Ruth was united in marriage to Warren Dalton in South Dakota; the two were married for 66 years. Ruth was a resident of Mason City for 75 years. While living in Mason City Ruth worked as a manager of the Mason City High School Cafeteria for 22 years.
Ruth was involved with many different organizations such as; The First Presbyterian Church Choir, Meals on Wheels, Woman’s Association serving as a Deacon for 6 years, was a volunteer at NIACC, Clerk of Courts, volunteered for multiple nursing homes, Boy Scouts, volunteered at the local senior center, PTA, Treasure Office, KCMR and the Girl Scouts.
Ruth is survived by her children: Ronald (Diana) Dalton, Dave (Cathy) Dalton and Diana (Dalton) Kuhns. 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings.
