Richard L. Fulton

Richard L. Fulton, 78, of Mason City, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Temple Baptist Church, 1211 Kentucky Ave., Mason City with Jerome Risting officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood - St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held one hour before church services on Thursday.

Richard Lee Fulton, the son of Floyd and Hazel (Kester) Fulton, was born October 27, 1945, in Mason City. He grew up in Mason City and at an early age moved with his family to a farm north of Clear Lake. He attended Ventura Consolidated School.  On July 25, 1971, he married Carolyn Lawyer at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake. They lived all of their married life in Mason City. Richard was employed at Cerro Gordo County Care Facility west of Mason City in patient care and later at Piper Trucking and Trailer Service. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the River City Barbershop Chorus for 14 years.

He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Mason City; a niece, Beth Fulton; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr. Robert F. Fulton; and a nephew, Steve Fulton.
