Naomi M. Griffen

Naomi Meta Griffen, 54, of Mason City, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of Naomi Griffen.

Naomi Meta Griffen was born on March 9, 1971, in Iowa City. She attended Mason City High School. At a very young age Naomi was diagnosed with cancer. She battled cancer until the age of 8. Though she beat cancer, she faced many health ailments throughout her life. At a young age she worked various jobs from working at Hy-Vee to working at different nursing facilities.

Naomi loved her family and her cats. She enjoyed baking, cooking, games, crafts and attending yearly family reunion parties.

Naomi is survived by her brother, Eric (Tanya) Griffen; niece, Erica Griffen; great nephew, Ivan; step nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Reynolds; grandparents Dale and Frances Griffen, many aunts and uncles.
