Nancy J. Weide

Nancy Weide, 71, of Mason City, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center following a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nancy was born September 11, 1954 in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Alice (Duesenberg) Stayner. She grew up in rural Rockford, and attended school there, graduating from Rockford High School in 1972. She later attended and graduated from North Iowa Area Community College with honors as a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, especially her grandchildren Rylan, Connor, and Baron, who she loved dearly. She enjoyed helping out with the youth at her church during vacation bible school, volunteering and playing piano at Faith Baptist Church, and knitting gifts for family and friends. Nancy was an avid trivia enthusiast who loved the opportunity to test her knowledge.

Many will remember her for her love of trucking, which brought her to all 48 continental states. She took pride in being one of the few women in a male-dominated field. It was a career that fit her desire to do things her way and allowed her to see family and friends all over the country.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Alice Stayner, and her brother, Richard Stayner. Nancy is survived by her siblings Bonnie (Kent) Mason, Diana Stayner, and Dean (Debbie) Stayner; her children Justin (Kadie) Stotts and Barbara Love; grandchildren Rylan, Connor, and Baron; and many loving nieces and nephews.
