Melvin Walter Davis

Melvin W. Davis, 89, of Mason City, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the MercyOne Hospice Inpatient Unit, 10 days after his wife Myrna.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Melvin Davis.

Melvin was born on November 30, 1929 to Walter and Mary Davis and resided in Mason City all his life. He married Myrna J. Bray in 1952. Melvin and Myrna had one son, Lynn. Melvin was employed at Armours, Winnebago and Stoyles Printing. He also worked in the bakery at Fairway when it first opened and sold Fuller Brush products for a number of years. Melvin enjoyed playing the organ, traveling, photography and gardening.

Melvin is survived by his son, Lynn, Lynn’s wife, Deb and his three grandchildren: Luke, Zach and Hannah. Sister-in-law Marilyn (Mickey) Halverson, brother-in-law, Dennis (Sue) Bray, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 67 years, Myrna.
