Maxine Frahm Johnson, 86, of Schenectady, NY, passed away on April 10, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Maxine was born in Mason City, Iowa, to Marian and Peter Frahm. She graduated from Mason City High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Grinnell College, where she also met her husband, Robert W. Johnson. Maxine later completed an MBA at the University of Pittsburgh. She built a distinguished career as a Senior Vice President and Trust Officer, retiring from Bank of America in 2005.
A lifelong musician, Maxine found joy in playing the flute and performed with numerous musical groups throughout her life. She was also deeply committed to advancing women's education, especially in the area of financial literacy.
Maxine is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Brenda Johnson (Bob Barringer) and Janine Johnson (Marc Dahl); her siblings and their spouses, Charles Frahm (Lila), Jim Frahm (Gail), Allene Parish, and Elizabeth Frahm, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phil and Barbara Johnson, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Randy Frahm, Rich Frahm, Doug Frahm, Will Frahm, Perry Frahm, Jody Williams, Mark Drew, Cassie Drew, Jim Drew, Jeremy Drew, Robert Frahm, Tim Johnson, Ken Johnson, and David Johnson.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Johnson; her parents, Marian and Peter Frahm; her brother, Phil Frahm; and brothers-in-law John Drew and SD Parish.
