Mary C. Tevis

Mary C. Tevis, 85, of Mason City, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Per her wishes, no services will be held. She is now a sleeping saint waiting for the second coming of Christ to receive the gift of eternal life. Memorials may be directed to the family of Mary Tevis. These donations will be sent to the Remnant Seventh Day Church in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Mary Catherine Tevis was born on April 21, 1940, in Mason City, Iowa, to parents Louis and Martha (Beisel) Hanson. Mary was united in marriage to Ellsworth B. Tevis on September 5, 1959. To this union, the couple were blessed with two sons.

She was a dedicated farmer’s wife and mother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Dennis Tevis and Douglas (Ana) Tevis; granddaughter, Sofia Tevis; two nephews, Gary and James Patrick; brother-in-law, Marlan Tevis; and sister-in-law, Coriene Tevis.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Tevis; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and William Patrick; and her parents, Louis and Martha Hanson.
