Mary K. Jorgensen, 63, of Kensett, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 13, 2026. As per her wishes, no services will take place at this time.
Mary Katherine (Endriss) Jorgensen was born in Mason City on June 8, 1963 to Glenn and Ethel (Odom) Endriss, one of ten children. After the family moved to Minnesota, Mary graduated from the Pine River School District. Mary worked a wide variety of jobs after completing her schooling, including spending time as an EMT driver, a bartender, and a lunch lady at her children's school. Later she would manage and co-own "My Brother's Place," a restaurant in Manly, Iowa, alongside her brother.
Twenty-four years ago, Mary met Scott Pals by chance in Plymouth, Iowa. The pair were instantly inseparable, and shared their lives and love for the remainder of Mary's years. They spent as much time together as they possibly could, whether in Mary's gardens or playing games together in the computer room, and treasured each other's company as much as they cared for their family.
Mary was blessed with three children of her own, a step-daughter, and later would welcome fourteen grandchildren into her life. Her family was her world, and she was their rock. Mary worked hard to support her family, at times holding three jobs at once to ensure her children would get the upbringing they deserved. She was dedicated and supportive in all ways, and her love knew no limits.
In her spare time, Mary would spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens and maintaining her perfect yard. Her green thumb provided everything from potatoes and green beans to carrots and strawberries, all lovingly attended to by Mary and Scott. When their work outside was done, the pair would retire inside to the computer room, where Mary loved to play games like SimCity and Farmville while Scott enjoyed her company. Christmas was an especially favored time for her. She took great joy in decorating the house with her miniature Christmas village and enough other decorations to fill half the garage full of totes when they weren't in use. As Christmas day neared, Mary could be found in the kitchen whipping up a great variety of treats for the family to enjoy. She truly made the time beautiful and memorable for all, year after year.
Those left to treasure Mary's memory include her husband of 24 years, Scott Pals; her children, Rory, Peggy, and Joseph Buchite; step-daughter, Sierra Pals; 14 grandchildren; 5 siblings; special friend, Jackie Schultz; and all of her employees at Casey's.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and other siblings.
