Lula Poulos

Lula Poulos, 92, of Mason City, passed away July 28, 2018, peacefully at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 1311 2nd Street SW, Mason City, with Rev. Joseph Mirowski officiating.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave.

A Trisagion service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lula Poulos was born August 17, 1925, to parents Christ and Irene (Kordkidou) Poulos. Lula was a graduate of Mason City High School and Hamilton Business College. She was a member of Sigma Beta Phi Sorority. Lula spent her working career as a secretary for Deckers in Mason City. She moved to St. Paul, MN to work as a teller for Eastern Heights State Bank and settling into a long career in the billing department at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad where she was until she retired. Moving back to Mason City to her home; she enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, her church community, life long friends and family. She traveled a number of times to Greece to visit her family there.

Lula is survived by her brother in-law: Louis (Kathy) Trigas; nephews: John Trigas, James Poulos, Alan (Lori) Poulos, nieces: Pam (Frank) Hunssinger and Jane Trigas, god daughter: Katerina (Mike) Ledin, numerous grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews and extended family, caregivers and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Irene Poulos, father: Christ Poulos, sister: Katherine Trigas, brother: John (Genevieve) Poulos, brother: Sam (Mary Lou) Poulos, nephew: Greg Poulos, niece and god daughter Kristie Pattison and Lula's uncle: Jim Poulos.
