Linda L. Ell

Linda Austin Ell, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Good Shepherd Health Center after a long battle with lung cancer and dementia.

Linda was born on February 4, 1950, in Mason City, Iowa, to Donald E. Austin Jr. and Arlette “Tiny” (Jermeland) Austin. She spent most of her life in Mason City and lived a full and independent life.

Linda devoted many years to caring for others. She ran an in-home daycare, worked at Shopko and Downtown Charlie Brown, and later served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at MercyOne North Iowa West Campus until her retirement.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marilyn Seward; and her brother, Don Jr.

In honoring her memory, we recognize the role she played in our family’s story. She is remembered in different ways by those who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dennis Ell of Des Moines; her children, Charles E. Weaver Jr., Chad (Jami) Weaver and children Brayden, and Avery; and Lindsay (Craig) and Gavin Budach.

Services are currently pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Linda Ell Memorial Fund in care of the family.
