LeAnn M. Weaver

March 18, 1953 — April 4, 2024

Mason City

LeAnn Marie Weaver (Sorbo) passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday morning, April 4, 2024, at the age of 71.

LeAnn was born on March 18, 1953, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Norlan J. and Marjorie B. (Olson) Sorbo. Throughout her life, she was a shining example of kindness, dedication, and service. A proud Mason City High School graduate, she furthered her education at Spencer Business College in 1971, laying the foundation for a life of meaningful contributions to her community and family.

LeAnn's heart led her to Charles Edward Weaver Sr. and his two sons. LeAnn and Chuck were married on a beautiful spring day, March 28, 1978, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Mason City. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and many adventures.

LeAnn's professional journey was as varied as it was impactful, from the loving care she provided in her own licensed in-home daycare, a testament to her nurturing spirit. She then played a pivotal role in managing Tuttle Asphalt and Paving's business office in Mason City, showcasing her organizational skills and reliability. Following her tenure at Tuttle's, LeAnn embraced the role of a Pharmacy Technician at the K-Mart Pharmacy, further illustrating her versatility and commitment to serving others. Her professional career path culminated in her position as a beloved Activities Director at the Nora Springs Care Center before retiring in 2018.

Throughout her career, LeAnn's unwavering dedication to her work was matched only by her profound commitment to her family, friends and community.

Beyond her professional life, LeAnn was a devoted mother and an active volunteer who dedicated countless hours to Cub Scout Pack 5 and Boy Scout Troop 212. She shared her spirit of service and leadership and passed that passion on to her children. Her faith and love for her community were also evident in her years teaching Sunday school, contributing to general stewardship, and serving on the council at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

LeAnn's zest for life was contagious, and along with her husband, Chuck, she embraced the joy of travel, exploring new places and making memories around the country or spending time with her extended family at her parent's cabin at Roberds Lake in Faribault, Minnesota.

LeAnn is survived by her sons, Charles Weaver Jr. and Chad Weaver with his wife, Jami; her grandchildren, Brayden and Avery; brothers, David Sorbo with his wife, Sandie, and their children, Troy and Dawn, and John Sorbo with his wife, Charlene, and their daughters, Jamie, Jennifer, Jonna, and Jackie.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Weaver Sr., her parents, Marjorie B. and Norlan J. Sorbo, her uncle Sidney Sorbo, her aunt Margaret Larson, and several close family members.

A memorial service to celebrate LeAnn's life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, with a reception at the Clear Lake Arts Center from 12 - 3 p.m. The Weaver family extends a warm invitation to all who knew and loved LeAnn to join them in celebrating her remarkable life.

In remembrance of LeAnn, the family suggests sending cards, condolences, or floral arrangements to Chad Weaver at 1032 8th St SW, Mason City, IA 50401, or donating to a charity of your choosing.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all who have supported and comforted our family during this time. LeAnn's legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will forever remain in our hearts.
