Laurine Ida Sheahan

December 23, 1927 — August 27, 2021

Laurine Ida Sheahan, 93, of Mason City, died on Friday, August 27, 2021, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. With Pastor Art Zewert officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to MercyOne North North Iowa Hospice.

Laurine Ida Sheahan was born on December 23, 1927, in Mason City to Edna (Zorn) and Gordon Koch. Laurine grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. On December 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Albert Sheahan. The two later divorced. Laurine worked several jobs before beginning her career at Curtis 1000 as a 4-color press operator until her retirement; a job she would pass on to her grandson, Gabe.
She loved playing cards with her friends, working in the garden, Jesus, travelling, and most of all, unconditionally, her family.

Laurine is survived by her children: Al and Lisa Sheahan, and Jay Sheahan. Grandchildren: Jason Sheahan and Tracy Caldwell, Gabe and Angie Sheahan, Renee (Sheahan) and Derek Gustafson, Courtney Sheahan, Whitney (Sheahan) and Dustyn Conway, Cheyenne Sheahan and Todd Lewis. Great grandchildren: Tyler Sheahan, Mackenzie Sheahan and Mara Mitchell, Mason Sheahan and Deserae Clevenger. Hayley (Sheahan) and Dylan Alitz, Devin Sheahan and Hayley Fransen, Gunnar Sheahan and Maylee Ariston, Garett Sheahan. Avery Gustafson, Sarah Gustafson. Brindlyn Conway, Breckyn Conway. Roman Mitchell, Maximus Mitchell. One great grandchild, and two great-great grandchildren expected soon.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, sister Gloria Demaris, brother-in-law Julius Demaris, daughter-in-law Roberta Sheahan, one great-grandson Charlie Alan Gustafson, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center, MercyOne North Iowa 4E Care Unit, and Hospice of North Iowa.
