November 30, 1930 — July 25, 2015

Glenyce M. Loomer, 84, of Mason City, IA, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Good Shepherd Health Center. Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Per her wishes, her body was cremated. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association, 2616 Orchard Drive, Cedar Falls, IA 50613.

Glenyce Blanchard was born November 30, 1930 in Mason City, the daughter of Glen and Marie Blanchard. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1948. She worked as a telephone operator for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Mason City, the Black Hawk County Courthouse in Waterloo, IA and the Mason City KMART where she was employed for twenty five years. She was employed in various administrative positions and also worked on the floor in various departments. She enjoyed being a cashier until her retirement in 1995.

Glenyce enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines, working jigsaw puzzles and reading. She loved working in her yard and took pride in keeping it up. She was dedicated to walking each day until her health did not permit her to do so.

Glenyce is survived by 3 children: Denyce Trettin and husband Tim of Rockford, IA, Mark Loomer of Mason City and significant other, Brenda Blanshan of Albert Lea, MN, and Jon Loomer and his wife Dee of Denver, CO. Glenyce is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Brent Loomer of Newport Beach, CA, Devon Patton and husband Greg of Denver, CO and Ashley Trettin, attending graduate school in Leavenworth, KS. She is also survived by 1 sister: Ruth Blazek of Mason City; 1 niece and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law: Darold Blazek.
