Gerald Lee Frank, 77, formerly of Mason City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Apple Valley Village Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time. Inurnment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Gerald was born in Mason City on October 25, 1947, to Jacob and Loretta (DiGregorio) Frank. He attended Holy Family Grade School and graduated from Newman High School in 1966. He later earned his degree in Business Administration from NIACC and Minnesota State University-Mankato.
Throughout his life, Gerald worked hard in many different roles—from delivering newspapers as a boy to serving as a U.S. Mail Clerk and Carrier, and later in manufacturing with Kraft Foods, Alexander Manufacturing, and Kelly Services. No matter the job, Gerald took pride in working with his hands and doing things well.
Outside of work, Gerald had many passions. He loved music—collecting records was one of his greatest joys, and his home was always filled with the sound of a favorite song. He was also a lifelong collector of stamps and trading cards, and he could happily spend hours talking about his finds. Gerald was especially fond of fishing trips to Clear Lake and Okoboji, where he found peace by the water. He enjoyed games of all kinds, from video games to cards, and always looked forward to the laughter and fun they brought with family and friends. He was also a steadfast fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, cheering them on through every season with loyal optimism, no matter the outcome.
Above all, Gerald loved his family. He is survived by his brother, Ronald Frank; his three children, Laura Delmonico and her husband Adam, Lisa Wilson and her husband James VanGorder III, and Mark Frank; and his beloved grandchildren, Paige and Nolan Wilson, and Ashley and Jacob Frank. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment with them.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Loretta Frank.
