Gary was born in Mason City on September 28, 1950, to parents Melvin and Anna (Boekelman) Howe. Gary graduated from Mason City High School. Following that Gary was a meat cutter first for Easter’s grocery and then on to many years at HyVee East. His customers enjoyed many conversations with him behind the counter. His pride was a 1977 white corvette. He would take off driving it somewhere just because. Gary liked to show off his flowers in the yard. They were beautiful. He loved his cat, Annie. She would spend hours on his lap purring. Family holiday gatherings and getting together with cousins were fun times for him. Reminiscing about the good old days. Of course, his favorite pass time was watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play football and basketball.
Gary was survived by his brother, Larry (Karen) Howe; nephews, Jeromy and Dustin (Trisha) Howe; grandnieces, Jayla and Aaliyah; grandnephew, Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
“And that” is the end of his story.
