Gary Berton Fish, 79, of Mason City, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 18, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025, at First Church of Nazarene, 509 S Carolina Ave, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lori Fish officiating. The family will greet friends and family from 9 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be directed towards the family of Gary Fish.
Gary was born on January 8, 1946 to Jerry and Ila (Freeman) Fish in Mason City. He graduated from Mason City Highschool and worked 5 years at the Globe Gazette and 39 years at NW Cement/Holcim.
On December 17, 1971 Gary married Kathy Schindeldecker. They were blessed with a son Jason (Lori) Fish.
He was a faithful member of the Nazarene Church. He loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, son Jason (Lori), brother Delbert (Paula) and sister Donna (Bill Eckard). Gary was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother Jack.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 says “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing” (NIV).
