Elden Ernest Molter, age 89, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Elden was born in Mason City, Iowa, on February 26, 1934, to Diedrich J. Molter and Rosa E. (Tobsing) Molter.  He attended Mason City schools from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 1952. He attended Mason City Junior College before serving in the United States Army in Korea from 1953 to 1955.

Elden earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, in 1960.  During this time, he worked as a supervisor in the construction of interstate highway 35 and began his career with Warner Electric Company in Omaha, Nebraska as an engineer.

He later founded his own company, EMC, working as a field representative for several manufacturing companies. He and his wife, Sandra Jo Parsons, resided in Rockford, Illinois and later in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, with their four children, enjoying the outdoors – camping, hiking, boating and constant exploring.

In his retirement, Elden carried the love of music, acquired as a choir member from little on up at St. James Lutheran Church, to participating in the Milwaukee Community Choir. He joined them on their European Tour preforming in historical churches throughout Europe.  He also was a violinist in the University Milwaukee Community Orchestra for many years.

Elden is preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Diedrich Molter, his sister Jeanette Marie Molter Clay Polly, and his wife Sandra Jo Parsons Molter.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jackman Molter, his children Eric W. Molter (Kristen) St. Paul, Minnesota, Diane M. Walker (Layne) La Crosse, Wisconsin, Clarke E. Molter (Elizabeth) Arville, North Dakota, Alan E. Molter (Carmen) Le Seur, Minnesota, Steven J. Molter (Catherine) Waynesboro, Virginia, Eddie Monnier (Sakura), Santa Monica, California. He is survived by grandchildren Jack Molter (Eric), Madison, Wisconsin, Christopher Walker, Vienna, Virginia, Benjamin Walker, Lenley, Minnesota (Diane), Dawson Molter, Makayla Molter (Alan), Le Suer, Minnesota, Max E. Molter (Steven), Waynesboro, Virginia, Nico Gift, Sienna Monnier (Eddie) Santa Monica, California. He is also survived by his sister Joan M. Hahn, Reno, Nevada, his niece JoDee H. Gilmore (Kenneth) San Antonio, Texas, and his nephew Jeffry W. Hahn (Pamela), Loudon, Tennessee and several great and great great nieces & nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 am. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa, with Rev. Sid Bohls of St. James Lutheran Church will officiating.
