Dorothy M. Nuehring

Dorothy Marie Nuehring, 83, of Mason City, IA, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.   Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4 until 6 PM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA.  Visitation will continue Friday at the church one hour prior to service time.

Dorothy was born June 2, 1940, the daughter of Lloyd and Marie (Dishon) Dahle in Kensett, IA.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard Nuehring on November 14, 1958 at St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City.  To this union three children were born.

Dorothy looked forward to a good game of cribbage, loved coloring but was always ready for a trip to the casino for a good time.  Dorothy was also known to have an addiction to shopping online and couldn’t wait for her prize picks to arrive.  She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  

Those thankful for having shared in Dorothy’s life include her children, Roger (Sue) Nuehring, Steve (Julie) Nuehring; sister, Suzanne Prindle; sister in law, Joyce Nuehring; brother in law, Lowell Nuehring; six grandchildren, Stefanie (Jorge) Reyes, Kayla (Mitch) Mullenbach, Richard (Alissa) Nuehring, Abbie (Blake) Upmeyer, Whitney (Derek) Grote, Cortney (Jered) Nuehring; twelve great-grandchildren, Raquel, Sonia, Jorge, Connor, Caden, William, Serenity, Nolan, Maya, Carson, Everleigh, Sylvie; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Nuehring was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Nancy Nuehring and sister, Donnis Hansen.
