Donald Eugene Abendroth

Donald Eugene "Donny" Abendroth was born on October 3, 1959, in Mason City, Iowa, to Marlene (Eppens) and Howard Abendroth. He passed away on October 5, 2026, at his home in Mason City.

He attended Mason City schools and joined the U.S. Army in 1977. He was stationed in Germany for ten months and was honorably discharged in 1978.

His only daughter, Kasandra Dee, was born in July 1981 and he was always a very loving and doting father to her.

Donny's life was not always easy, but he loved deeply. His daughter and grandchildren, Dylan and Carly, and his sister, Terry, meant the world to him. He was also very close to his mother, Marlene. Toward the end of his life, he was like a step-grandfather to Millie, who brought him so much joy.

He is survived by his daughter, Kasandra; two grandchildren, Dylan Godbold and Carly Godbold; his siblings, Mickey Abendroth, Jayne (Abendroth) Peterson, Terry Abendroth, David Abendroth, and Scott Abendroth; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Abendroth; his mother, Marlene (Eppens) Tvedt; and his brother, Steven Abendroth.

Donny will be missed by all those who loved him.
