Dolly was born in Minnesota on October 5, 1937, and raised by her parents, Clarence and Daisy Rasmuson. After graduating from Britt High School, she was united in marriage to Dennis Bryant. The family farmed in the north Iowa area, moving from Mason City to Charles City, to Belmond, before finally settling back into Mason City in 1980.
After working for Belmond Printing Services, Dolly began her employment at Mason City’s Walmart when the store first opened and remained there until her retirement. Outside of her work, Dolly was an avid naturalist and enjoyed spending her time gardening amongst her flowers and bird watching. In her free time, Dolly enjoyed bowling and loved trips to Texas with Dennis. Dolly was as loyal to her German Shepherds as they were to her and had a canine companion by her side throughout her whole life. She was a warm and loving grandmother to her three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Dolly is survived by her two sons, David Laird Bryant and Dale Randall Bryant; sister, Elaine; sister-in-law, Margaret; three grandchildren, Justin Barkema of Belmond, Iowa, and Kristin and Michele Drilen of Norway; one great-granddaughter, Alessa, of Norway; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Jenni and Mike O'Donnell and family, Duaine Stone and family; and her beloved companion, Kiaha.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Bryant; daughter, Deloris (Bryant) Drilen; her parents, Clarence and Daisy Rasmuson; and numerous other friends and family members.
