Dennis Gemaehlich, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, under hospice care in Phoenix, AZ. He is out of pain now and we will miss him! May he rest in peace.
A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania, with Rev. Kent Mechler officiating. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00-1:30 p.m., at the funeral home on Saturday.
Dennis was the only son of Aldro (Al) and Bonnie (Lenz) Gemaehlich, born on May 3, 1953. Dennis married Jenny Balek, they later divorced. He then married Kim Beekman. To this union, three children were born: Matthew Blair, Alex Jordon, and Kelsey McKenzie. They later divorced.
Dennis received his education in the Mason City School System, graduating in 1971 from MCHS, and later attended NIACC. His jobs included assistant manager at South McDonalds, then to Curries, where he worked about 40 years until his retirement.
He then moved to the Southwest, ending up in Pheonix, where he could get away from the cold and snow!
Left with their memories are his mother, Bonnie; sisters, Kathleen (Don) Brown and Joleen (Dan) Snyder; children, Matthew and Kelsey; and grandchildren, Kellan, Josie, and Remi.
Meeting him in heaven are his father, Al; and his son, Alex.
Dennis was an avid Hawkeye fan, GO HAWKS!
