Dean Baumann

Dean Baumann, 84, of Mason City, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S Kentucky Ave. Inurnment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN.

Dean was born April 6, 1934, at Madison Wisconsin, with a Twin sister Dawn, attended schools in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota, Graduated at Rochester, Minnesota 1952, and was married to Doris Iona Friebohle at Rochester Minnesota, September 3rd, 1952. Served in the Marine Corps for Eight Years from June 1952 to June 1960, and served Korea as a BAR man from 1952 and 1953 and is a Decorated Korean Combat Veteran.
Dean took an apprenticeship in Allied Trades, at Chicago, also attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, (Radio and Electronics) later moving to Rochester, Minnesota.
Dean worked for several years in the Rochester area, retired from a Christian Radio Station at Salt Lake City, Utah, where we was a Manager of the station, then came serious medical issues and moving to Mason City in 1993.
Dean enjoyed serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ thru Christian Radio and personal contacts and music with the message of Jesus Saves. Dean held Bible Study Classes in Jails, Prisons, and Rescue Missions in cities he has lived pointing men to Christ.
Dean was a member of Faith Baptist Church at Mason City, also served with the Gideon’s and Christian Business Men’s Assoc, a member of Veterans for Christ, Marine Corps League, VFW, and North Iowa Amateur (Ham) Radio Club.
Dean served on Boards of Radio Ministries, Rescue Missions, and Church Boards.
Dean was the oldest of children and his parents of Des Plaines, IL preceded him in death along with one Sister, Cheryl, one Brother Dale, One Grandson Jeffrey, of Mason City, Dean is survived by wife Doris of 66 years, and one Son Kenneth Baumann Sr., and wife Virginia of Mason City, area. One grandson, Pastor Kenneth Baumann Jr. and wife Crista, three great Grandaughters, Evelyn, Emelya and Elyanna of Kenyon, Minnesota. Sister Dawn of San Antonio, Texas. Dean has many other living relatives in the North Chicago area.
