Cindy M. Spencer

Cindy M. Spencer, 66, of Swea City, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Per Cindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family of Cindy Spencer.

Cindy Mae Spencer was born on September 14, 1960, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to parents Darwin and Darlene (Cox) Spencer. Cindy graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1979.

Wherever Cindy was, her life partner, Timothy Dean Wolf, was not far behind her. The couple shared over 35 wonderful years together until his passing, they loved each other deeply.

Cindy went on to Iowa Lakes Community College and obtained her secretarial degree. She worked in that field for a couple years, but most notably, she worked as a CNA, and it is in healthcare, where Cindy really thrived. Often specializing with Demetia patients, Cindy was known to be very sympathetic and would often lend a helping hand when needed. Cindy retired as a caregiver in 2025.

In her free time, Cindy enjoyed shopping, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved cat, Lydia. To her family and friends, Cindy will forever be remembered as extremely caring and hard working. She never failed to lend a hand when it was needed. Her stubborn nature and quick wit will be cherished, and she will be dearly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Spencer; her grandsons, Kevin Timothy (Selena Rangel) Olson and Kevin Younger Olson; mother, Darlene Faye Cox, sister, Nicole Gilliam; nieces, Brittny Billings, Amy Groven, and Amber Beasley (Jerome Henry); grand nieces and grand nephews, Tierra Railey, Terrell Brown, Mariah Beasley, Arianna Beasley, and Jaylen Harrison; and brother-in-law, Dennis Groven.

Cindy was preceded in death by her partner, Tim Wolf; father, Darwin Spencer; sister, Shelly Groven; and her grandparents.
