William W. O'Dell

William W. ODell, 77, of Mason City, died Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.  Upon his wishes his body was cremated and there will be no memorial services.  Inurnment will be held in Memorial Park CemeteryMemorials may be directed to the William W. ODell memorial fund in care of the family, 2211 South Madison, Mason City, Iowa 50401. William Wallace ODell was born, July 28, 1930 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Fred and Violet (Dixon) ODell.  He was born and raised in Mason City and attended Mason City High School.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and served in the Korean War, he was honorably discharged in 1952.  He was married to Donna Hall on October 31, 1952 in Albert Lea, MN.  He worked for Northwestern Portland Cement Plant for thirty two years until retiring in 1984.  In 1985 he moved to Lake Havasa, AZ until moving back to Mason City in 1999.He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. William was survived by his wife, Donna L. ODell of Mason City; sons, William A. ODell and wife Kathy of Mason City, IA, Robert M. ODell and wife Linda of Mason City; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Bull and husband Willis of Mason City and Joan Sharp and husband Daryl of Vancouver, OR He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Fred ODell Jr. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.                                            www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com
