William 'Bill' G. Riley

William G. Riley, 83, of Clear Lake, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at his residence. Upon his wishes, he was cremated and here are no formal services scheduled. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa in his name. Bill was born on October 11, 1928 in Milmine, IL, the son of Paul and Opal Riley. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1947, and Mason City Jr. College in 1949. On November 18, 1948 he married Marjorie Jean Glanville in Mason City. Bill worked for Decker’s and Armour Foods for 42 years before retiring in 1991 in Dallas, TX. Then they moved back to Clear Lake in the summer of 1991. William is survived by his son, Scott Riley and wife Pam of Lakeville, MN; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Riley of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Sheri Prescott and husband Tony of Velburg, Germany, Willem Riley and wife Stephanie of Eden Prairie, MN, Emily Riley and husband Patrick Benedict of Fairfax, VA and John Riley of Springfield, VA; great grandchildren, Savannah, Alisa, and Levi Prescott of Velburg, Germany; sister, Patricia VanRy of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Mary (Bill) Stoynoff of Ventura; nephews, Nick Stoynoff and wife Linda of Chicago, IL, Tom Glanville and wife Mary Jo of Ames, IA, Mike VanRy and wife Karen of Mason City, Vicki Malanee and husband Matt of St. Charles, MO., Ron Glanville and wife Carrie of Clear Lake, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, son: Lt. Col. Jeffrey Lynn Riley; brother, Robert Riley and parents.
