Wesley A. Rezab

November 25, 1912 — December 2, 2008

Mason City - Wesley A. Rezab, 96, formerly of Rock Falls, died Tuesday (December 2, 2008) at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, (December 9, 2008) at the Old Stone United Methodist Church in Rock Falls, with Pastor Jim Turner officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday (December 8, 2008) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be directed to the Wesley A. Rezab memorial fund in care of the family.

Wesley was born November 25, 1912 in Plymouth, Iowa the son of John H. and Anna (Straka) Rezab. He attended and graduated from Plymouth High School. He was married to Marjorie E. Cookman on May 15, 1935 in Plymouth, Iowa, to this union two children were born. They moved to Mason City from Plymouth in 1937, then to Rock Falls in 1963. He worked for Consolidated Foods in the warehouse for 33 years until retiring. He then went to work for the County Conservation Board and worked general maintenance in the area parks for 8 years. He also helped as a custodian part-time for many years at the Old Stone Methodist Church in Rock Falls.

Wes loved tending to his large vegetable and flower garden, enjoyed traveling with his wife and playing cards, especially the game 500. . He was active in the Senior Citizen Centers in Manly and Rock Falls. He loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
He was a member of Teamsters, AARP, and former member of the Moose Lodge.

Wesley is survived by his children, Gordon Rezab and wife Linda of Mason City, Dolores Stevens and husband Kenneth of Aredale, IA; five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother, Norman Rezab and wife Freda of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rezab of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie in 1995; brother, Leland Rezab; sister, Lavonne Anderson, and infant sister.
