Warren H. Dalton

Warren H. Dalton, 90, of 820 14th St. SE, died Monday (April 12, 2004) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Willowbrook Drive with Rev. Terry Hamilton-Poore officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa, First Presbyterian Church or Senior Citizens Activity Center. Warren was born January 8, 1914 in Steamboat Rock, Iowa the son of William L. and Frankie (Freerksen) Dalton. His family moved to Forest City in 1920 and Warren attended school their. He married Ruth L. Hale December 22, 1938 in Miller, South Dakota. They moved to Mason City in 1945. Warren farmed for many years then went to work for Higley Cold Storage. He retired in 1976 as superintendent having spent 31 years their. Warren was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, past treasurer at the church, a member of AARP, Senior Chamber of Commerce where he was past treasurer, past treasurer for Congregate Meals and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Warren is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Dalton of Mason City; 2 sons, Ronald Lee Dalton and wife Diana of Bettendorf, David Eliot Dalton and wife Catherine of Plano, Texas; daughter, Diana Lynn Kuhns of Lynnwood, Washington; 8 Grandchildren, David Dalton of Mason City, Jeremy Kuhns of Woodbury, Minnesota, Chad Dalton of Frisco, Texas, Deborah Dalton of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mindy Burruss of Sioux City, Jill Yates of Bettendorf, Cindi Bigelow of Old Monroe, Missouri, Nickol Dalton of Dallas, Texas; step-grandchildren, Pearl Ann Guy of Omaha, Nebraska, Jeff Kuhns of Omaha, Nebraska; 12 great grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
