Obituary for Warren G. Davison

Warren G. Davison, 92, of Mason City, died on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Mason City where he was a member for over 60 years.

Warren Gates Davison was born November 8, 1926 in Eldora, Iowa to Paul and Ruby (Gates) Davison. Warren married the “love of my life” Marilyn J. March in November of 1946 upon his return from WWII.

Warren was active in his community, particularly First United Methodist Church, North Iowa Girl Scouts, Evening Lions Club and the American Legion.

Warren served as Cerro Gordo County Engineer for nearly 30 years beginning in 1960. He was active in professional associations receiving state and national awards. After retirement he worked for FEMA assessing national disasters for 17 years.

Warren loved camping, fishing, woodworking, and golf. He loved playing cards, especially cribbage, with family and friends. His time with his family was most important to him.

Warren is survived by his wife Marilyn (March) Davison, four daughters – Pat (Chuck) Behm of Boone, Sherry (Russ) Candee of Waterloo, Linda Davison of Minneapolis, and Diana (Gary) Grassel of Billings, MT. His family includes 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his Sister-in-Law, Dorothy Davison.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers – Paul (Esther), Bob (Lela), Dean (Ruth) and Clyde Davison, Sister-in-Law Betty (John) Williams, Brother -in-law, James March, and a grandson, Christopher Behm.
