Wanda E. Caponi

Mason City Wanda E. Caponi, 80, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Good Shepherd Health Center. Upon her wishes she was cremated and memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Wanda E. Caponi memorial fund in care of the family.

Wanda E. (Jenison) Caponi was born April 24, 1928 in Goodell, Iowa to Dorothy and Vere Jenison. She was the oldest of sixteen children. Wanda attended Waldorf College and married Charles C. Caponi II on January 22, 1950 in Albert Lea, MN. She had two children, Stephanie and Charles III. She worked at Pritchard Auto and then many years for the North Iowa Library Extension before going to work at Good Earth Natural Foods, now (Health Country). She was a long time member of the Mason City Seventh Day Adventist Church serving the church in many different capacities. She considered the members to be family too.

Wanda enjoyed playing and singing music. She felt blessed to have such supportive brothers and sisters and loved them all very much. She also had many good times with her husbands side of the family and always enjoyed being an honorary Italian.
Those who knew Wanda knew she never had a bad word to say about anyone. She remained true to her faith through many trials and tears. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Charles Caponi and wife Kimberly of Mason City; three grandchildren, Jason, Timothy, Mollie; eight great grandchildren, Braiden, Tavin, Maya, Max, Trenton, Cayden, Piper and Gianna; brothers, Bradley, Oscar, Peter, and Arthur; sisters, Adelaide, Jeraldine, Jolene, Lorinda, and Gloria.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles C. Caponi in 1995; daughter, Stephanie Bohl in 2004; three brothers, Randall, Greydon, and Jon; three sisters, Carolyn Sue, Hope, and Audra.
