Waldo ?Wally? Willock, 87 of Mason City died Tuesday, May 10, 2003 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral Services for Wally will be held10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2502 South Jefferson Avenue, with Rev. Joel Dahlen officiating. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation for Wally will be from 5:00 P.M. ? 8:00 P.M. today(Tuesday) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorial gifts may be made in Wally?s name to Hospice of North Iowa. Wally was born January 4, 1916 in Madelia, Minnesota the son of Earl Willock and Minnie (Shaw) Willock. He served his country in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his return Wally was united in marriage to Ruby Belknap on Apil 2, 1945 in Sacramento, California. He was a lifelong resident of Blue Earth County until 1988 when he moved to Mason City. One of Wally?s greatest accomplishments was the joy of learning to play golf after he became blind. He was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and recently spent the last few winters with his daughter, Dr. Katherine Willock in Kingsport, Tennessee. Those left to cherish his memory are: Daughter ? Patricia Ellwein and husband Vern of Anchorage, Alaska Son ? Lowell Willock and wife Kathy of Mason City Daughter ? Ann Dodge and husband Mark of Mason City Daughter ? Dr. Katherine Willock of Kingsport, Tennessee Grandchildren: Laura Eckart of Rosella, Washington Traci Curry of Valdez, Alaska Matthew Dodge and wife C.J. of Mason City Michael Dodge of Mason City Jennifer Willock and fiancé Richard McCarthy of Parker, Colorado Nathaniel Dodge of Mason City Aaron Dodge of Mason City Betsy Willock of Kingsport, Tennessee Five Great Grandchildren Many Neices and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruby, Brothers: Williard and Edmund Willock and a sister, Annabell Halverson.
