Terrence 'Terry' Lewis

MASON CITY: Terrence “Terry” Lewis, 70, of Mason City died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City surrounded by his family. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM Friday, July 25, 2014 at Epiphany Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th Street SE. Interment will be held in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 PM. Memorials may be directed to the Terry Lewis Memorial Fund. Terry was born in Mason City on September 25, 1943 to Francis “Frank” and Mary (Barragy) Lewis. Terry was the youngest of three children. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1961. He was a hard-working, lifelong farmer who put his heart into everything he did. On June 20, 1964 he was united in marriage to Lynette Eich at St. Joseph Catholic Church. This union was blessed with three children. Terry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a former representative on the Mohawk Athletic Booster Club and served on the board of the Clear Lake Farmer’s CO-OP in the 1990’s. In his earlier years, Terry enjoyed drag racing and also supporting his friends with their stock cars. Later in life, he followed NASCAR and NHRA racing. First and foremost, family meant the most to him. He was a strong supporter of his children and grandchildren in all of their activities. Those left to honor his memory include his wife Lynette; children, Shari (Joe M.) Rottinghaus of Mason City, Jill (Paul) Rowe of Sheffield and Randy Lewis of Mason City; grandchildren, JT, Ashley and Sydney Rottinghaus; Kaylee, Colton, Maya and Talia Rowe; sister, Betty Vader; sisters-in-law, Eunice Oehm and Noreen Bergan; many other family members and friends. He joins in heaven his parents, Frank and Mary Lewis; brother, Jimmy; numerous relatives and friends.
