Mason City: Sharon L. Young, 49, died at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, September 10, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a gathering of friends and family held 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Sharon L. Young memorial fund. Sharon Lucielle Young was born September 11, 1957 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Alfred and Mildred (Miller) Young. She grew up in Mason City and spent her entire life there. Sharon worked as a Nurse?s Aide at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake until February of 2006. She was a member of the local Al-Anon Group and also Trinity Lutheran Church. She was very family oriented and enjoyed family get-togethers. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and family was important to her. She enjoyed making jewelry, printing t-shirts, crocheting and cooking. She is survived by her three sons, Scott Lear and wife Jennifer of Mason City, Ben Lear of San Antonio, TX and Jeff Lear of Nora Springs; grandchild, Rebecca Lear; mother, Mildred Kuykendall; and siblings, Ellen Anderson, Danny Young, Ardella Young, and David Young; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Young; brother, Michael Young, and sister, Ruth Young.
