MANLY ? Selenda Josephine Larsen, 86 of Manly died Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Manly Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Josephine was born May 18, 1919 in Onawa the daughter of Eugene and Kittie (Holland) Wilkinson. At the age of 3 Josephine and her family moved to Mason City. She attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Thompson on August 30, 1940 in Northwood, Iowa. Josephine and Robert then moved to Clear Lake and returned to Mason City in 1949. Robert died October 26, 1966. Josephine was united in marriage to Merle Kalvig on June 5, 1971 in Mason City where they lived until moving to Manly in 1982 where they lived until Merle?s death in 1989. Josephine was united in marriage to Raymond Larsen on December 16, 1990 in Mason City. She worked as a dispatcher for two years at Barnes Trucking and in the Diet Kitchen at Mercy Hospital for two years. Josephine was a member of the First Congregational Church in Mason City where she worked in the nursery for 25 years. She was also a member of the ?Kitchen Klatter Band? out of Alexander, Iowa for fourteen years. Josephine was an avid collector of Dolls, Owls, Pitchers and Bowls. She loved to spend time with her family and attend family gatherings. Survivors include: Husband: Raymond Larsen of Alexander Daughter: Judith Cummings and husband Arthur of Las Vegas, Nevada Daughter: SFC. Dixie Thompson, USA RET., of Las Vegas, Nevada Daughter: Sally Jo Osborn and husband Bobby of Prague, Oklahoma Sister: Maxine Ziemann of Mason City Sister: Aileen Griffith of Mason City Sister: Darline Baack of Klemme Six Grandchildren Lisa Christensen of Indianapolis, Indiana Wilma Hanson-McCoy and husband Floyd of Lincoln, Nebraska Patricia Lewis and husband R.D. of Davenport, Oklahoma Frank Osborn and wife Mary of Shawnee, Oklahoma Robert Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada David Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada 18 Great Grandchildren Special Family Member: Tenny Hanson of Salinas, California She was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husbands, one brother, Eugene Wilkinson and a half brother, Albert Wilkinson.
