Ryan R. Smith

Ryan Robert Smith, 1½ day old son of Andy and Gayle Smith, of Mason City, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.   Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, April 14, 2008 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with Rev. Craig Steimel of St. Josephs Catholic Church officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday (April 13, 2008) at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Ryan R. Smith memorial fund.
 
Ryan is survived by his parents, Andy and Gayle Smith of Mason City; two brothers, Matthew and Luke Smith; maternal grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Bormann of Algona, IA and paternal grandmother, Mary Smith of Sumner, IA; uncles, Bill (Lorie) Smith, Jeff (Lisa) Smith, Lee (Alicia) Smith all of Sumner, IA, Jim Smith of Imperial, MO, Louie (Jodie) Bormann, Dan Bormann of Algona, IA, Brian (Jeana) Bormann of Middlebury, IN, and Gary (Kalissa) Bormann of Moundville, AL; aunts, MaryJean (Carlos) Delgado of Gouldsboro, PA, Patricia (Chuck) Shedek of Cedar Rapids, IA, Theresa (Mike) Voshell, Sharon (John) Orr of Fayette, Iowa, Joyce (Reynold) Erdmann of Washburn, IA, Betty (Dave) Meighan, Janet (Darin) Cahoy of Sumner, IA, Karen Smith and fiancé Robin Leatherman of Gustavus, AK, Diane Bormann of Brookfield, WI, and Charlene (Dale) Givens of Tuscaloosa, AL, and many numerous cousins.
 
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandfather, James F. Smith and uncle, David K. Bormann.
