Mason City ? Ruth M. Paxton, 100 of Mason City died Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W., with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church, or Hospice of North Iowa. Ruth was born March 15, 1907 in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Kratoska) Moravec. She moved to Mason City with her parents at the age of one and spent her entire life here. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1924 and also attended Hamilton Business School. Ruth was married to Artie Paxton on October 25, 1936 in Waterloo, IA. She was a bookkeeper for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for over fifteen years and retired in 1957. She also worked at Buttreys and Stockberger Transfer and Storage. She was a charter member of Grace United Brethren Church in Mason City (now Grace United Methodist Church). She was a Past Worthy Matress of the Eastern Star and a Past Worthy High Priestess of the Alcore Shrine #6, and was a member of the Naomi circle at Grace United Methodist Church. Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Hansen of Pontiac, MI; cousins, John Purdue of Iowa City, Harold Moravec (Corrine) of Dickeysville, WI and Marilyn (Jack) Zook of Mason City; nieces, Barbara Try of Mesa, AZ, Janet Keenan of Bullhead City, AZ, Shirley Torgerson of Pontiac, MI; nephews, Robert Paxton of Vancouver, WA, James (Marilou) Paxton of Richmond, WA, Roland (Kaye) Hansen of Charlotte, NC, Ben (Brenda) Paxton of Barling, AR.
