LAKE MILLS: Ruth Alvina Charlson, 95, of 302 2nd St. NE, formerly of Lake Mills died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Salem Lutheran Church, Lake Mills with Rev. W. Paul Weeg officiating. Interment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City and continue Friday morning one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church or KCMR Radio. Ruth was born May 28, 1911 on a farm in Mount Valley Township Winnebago County the daughter of Jacob and Tomina (Ramsey) Rusley. She attended rural school and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1929. Ruth married Milton Charlson November 27, 1930 at Winnebago Lutheran Church by the Rev. H.F. Huseth. Milton and Ruth celebrated 60 years of marriage in 1990. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and church circle. Ruth was also a 50 year member of Queen Rebekah Lodge in Lake Mills. She entered Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, in April of 2002. She enjoyed playing cards and games at Good Shepherd with her 3 special friends. Ruth enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth?s family would like to thank the staff at Good Shepherd for the wonderful care and love she received. Ruth is survived by 2 daughters, Marion and husband Richard Erickson of Mason City, Norma and husband Eldean Matheson of Mason City: son, Ron and wife Pam Charlson of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Mark and Denise Erickson of Oakland, California, Bob and Toni Erickson of Mason City, Jana and Brian Fehlan of Wellington, Ohio, Paula and Dan Ellberg of Princeton, Illinois, Dr. Tom and Mary Matheson of Denton, Texas, Amy and Rory Lea of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Christopher Charlson of St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa and Joe Fruscella of St. Louis, Missouri and Jason and Shelley Kinker of St. Louis, Missouri; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Esther Anderson of Lake Mills; sisters-in-law, Carmen Rusley of Lake Mills and Mildred Hanson of Forest City; 7 nieces and 1 nephew. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Milton; infant son, Robert and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
