Roderick A. Wright, 73, of Mason City, died Friday (November 12, 2004) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday (November 15, 2004) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 East State St., with Rev. Paul Finger officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday (November 14, 2004) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. and continue Monday before the service at the church. The body will be cremated and inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Roderick A. Wright Memorial Fund. Rod was born August 11, 1931 in Mason City the son of Donald and Evangeline (Moon) Wright. Following his graduation from Mason City High School in 1950, he served 4 years during the Korean War in the Navy where he was stationed in the Mediterranean from 1950-1954. Upon his return home, he married Phyllis Menke on October 2, 1954 at Central Lutheran Church. Rod retired in 1993 from Heartland Paper Company where he served as a Warehouse Manager. He had many friends and was well liked by all who knew him. He enjoyed working in his garden and watching television. Rod is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Mason City; son, Mark and wife Jan of Sioux City; daughter, Diane Murphy and husband Jim of Mason City, son Jay and wife Renee of Downers Grove, Illinois; grandchildren, Kyle Wright and wife Margaret, Megan Murphy and Michael Wright. Rod?s parents; and grandson, Matthew Murphy preceded him in death.
