MASON CITY Robert Lee Logan, 45, of Mason City, died Wednesday, November 03, 2010. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Rock Grove Cemetery in Nora Springs, IA, with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Roberts son, Remington James Logan, P.O. Box 1643, Mason City, Iowa, 50402.
Robert was born September 6, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Jeanette (Davis) Logan. He graduated from Newman High School in 1984 where he was very active in sports and earned an Eagle Scout Award, before graduating Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa with a Culinary in Arts Degree. He served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Jackson, SC, in 1984. Robert had a huge heart and lived for his son, Remington. They, along with their faithful companion, Dixie Dog, loved to hunt, fish, and trap together. He loved all outdoor activities, collecting, he treasured time spent with family, and loved to play cribbage with his brothers. Robert was an accomplished chef for many years and proudly owned and ran Hunters Farm for 6 years. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Robert is survived by his son, Remington James Logan and Remis mother, Lori Graves of Sioux Rapids, IA; mother, Jeanette Logan and step father Dennis Niehaus, both of Mason City; brothers, Richard W. Logan of Mason City, Brian P. (Diane) Logan of Rockwell; sisters, Catherine (Dave) Williams of Manly, IA, Cynthia Peterson of Rockwell, IA; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hunter Lee Logan; father, Richard L. Logan.
