Robert E. Schaecher, 77, of 501 S. Kentucky, formerly of Nampa, Idaho died Monday (January 3, 2005) at the Heritage Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Per his request, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Robert was born August 15, 1927 in Columbus, Nebraska the son of Leonard and Mabel Patton. After serving his country, he was honorably discharged from the US Army. He worked for Boise Cascade Corporation in Burley, Idaho. He then moved to Nampa when a new plant was opened. Robert, and wife Norma moved to Mason City in 2001. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma of Mason City; children, Leonard Schaecher of Nampa, Idaho; Karen Robirds and husband Jim of Rupert, Idaho; Robert Schaecher Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brenda Schaecher of Lakewood, Washington; Joyce Scott and husband Russ of Mason City; Kathy Troutman and companion Dwayne Bratten of Battle Mountain, Nevada; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
