Richard M. Bridgeford, 84, of Mason City, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 2502 South Jefferson Avenue, with Rev. Emily Horrell officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Sunday (February 19, 2012) and Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, and will continue one hour prior to the church service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Richard Bridgeford memorial fund in care of the family. Richard Marion Bridgeford was born December 15, 1927, in Mason City, the son of Samuel and Mary (Hagen) Bridgeford. He graduated from Mason City High School, and also attended NIACC. On February 18, 1950, Richard married Jane I. Bublitz in Mason City. He worked for the Mason City Police Dept. (Traffic Control) for 31 years, before retiring in 1993. Richard was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling the U.S. Richard is survived by his daughter: Debra Reicherts and husband Robert of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister: Hazel “Toots” Ellingson and husband Merle of Clear Lake; and brother-in-law: Roger Bublitz of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1989; and 1 brother: Virgil Bridgeford.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery
