MASON CITY ? Raymond C. Hoots, 90 of Mason City died Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church, 2502 South Jefferson Avenue with Rev. Joel Dahlen officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M., on Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the Raymond C. Hoots Memorial Fund. Major Erickson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (641)423-0924. Raymond C. Hoots was born on June 22, 1915 in Rockwell the son of Fred and Eliza (Hammje) Hoots. He attended Rockwell Schools. Raymond farmed for many years with his father. He was united in marriage to Genevieve O?Neil on September 6, 1942 at St. Peter?s Lutheran Church in Rockwell. They farmed for 27 years around Mason City and Garner. In 1970 Raymond and Genevieve moved to Mason City. He was employed at Armour Company for several years. Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and going on trips. He also had a unique hobby of restoring antique furniture and making clocks. Raymond was a member of Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church. Raymond is survived by his sister, Emma Cox of Cedar Ridge, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Genevieve in 2002, a brother Herman and three sisters, Dorothy Coe, Martha Holt and Anna M. Cox. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
