MASON CITY Rachel N. Holland, 90, of Mason City, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Monday, October 25, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be held in Elim Cemetery, Fertile, IA. Memorials may be directed to the Rachel N. Holland Memorial Fund in care of the family.
Rachel was born September 10, 1920, in Forest City, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Hanson) Kingland. She graduated from Forest City High School before attending Hamilton School of Business. Rachel married Gustav Holland on September 8, 1945, in Waseca, MN. She was a happily married housewife for many years. She enjoyed gardening, canning string beans, making lefse, completing crossword puzzles, and flowers, especially hostas, inpatients, geraniums, and mums. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Church Circle, Local Bible Study, and Sewing Club.
Rachel is survived by her children, Garry Holland of Mason City, Deborah Weber of Boone, IA, Darwin Holland of Mason City; two grandsons, Lucas Holland, Joseph Weber; two granddaughters, Larissa Weber, Jennifer Dubberke; sister, Emilie (Allan) Conklin of New Brighton, MN; brother, Quinton (LaVerna) Kingland of Longmont, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Kennes and Oral Kingland; sister, Eva Kingland.

Memorials may be directed to the Rachel N. Holland Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held in Elim Cemetery, Fertile, IA.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Monday, October 25, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue.
