Phyllis F. Peck, 80, of 9 Oak Drive and recently of Heritage Care Center, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, November 5, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania Ave, with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 PM ? 5:30 PM Sunday (November 4, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Phyllis F. Peck Memorial Fund. Phyllis was born May 15, 1927 in Britt, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Hauptly) Steenlage. She attended and graduated from Britt High School in 1945, and also attended Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She taught in a one room school house in Kanawaha, IA before her marriage. She was married to William A. Peck and June 10, 1946 in Great Falls, Montana. Her husband worked for the railroad and they lived numerous places before making Mason City their permanent home in 1959. Phyllis had many childhood farm memories. Her teaching career and the education of her four children were the highlights of Phyllis?s life. Her home life, husband and family were very important to her. She enjoyed dancing and country music. Phyllis is survived by her children; Sandra L. Ellis-Kinney and Doug of Standsbury Park, Utah, William D. Peck of Brookings Harbor, OR, Patricia A. ?Pat? Davison and husband Scott of Mason City, Jolene P. McClung and husband Kurt of Inver Grove Heights, MN; grandchildren, Jason Ellis, Jennifer Ellis, Laura (Ellis) Smith, Matthew Ellis, Hilary Davison, Mason McClung, Dillon McClung, and Yulia McClung; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Viola Hawk of Britt, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend George Wendell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William in 1990; brother, John Jr. and sister Imogene Zrostlik.
