Phyllis (Sjostrand) Nolte, 65, of 1132 Gilman St., Sheffield, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Upon her wishes she will be cremated. Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield, IA. A luncheon fellowship will follow at Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield. Memorials may be directed to Zion St. John Lutheran Church in memory of Phyllis Nolte. Phyllis Lorraine Sjostrand was born December 30, 1945 at Rockwell Hospital in Rockwell, IA, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Froning) Sjostrand. She was raised on the family farm, east of Sheffield and attended Sheffield-Chapin Consolidated School, where she graduated in 1964. On August 16, 1964, she married William Nolte and they made their home in Sheffield. Phyllis was a rural mail carrier for the Sheffield Post Office for 30 years. She was extremely devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends and her precious dog, Chico. She is survived by her husband, William Nolte of Sheffield; son, Michael William Nolte of Mason City, IA; son, Mark Anthony and Wife Leslie Nolte of Iowa City, IA; niece, Melissa Anne Sjostrand of Minneapolis, MN; mother, Betty Sjostrand of Mason City; eight grandchildren, Tyler, MacKenzie, Kameryn, Devin, Mia, Zoe, Eli and Max Nolte; brother, David Sjostrand and wife Myra of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sjostrand; brother, Wayne Sjostrand; sister, Karen Squier; grandparents, Clarence and Velma Froning and Edward and Signe Sjostrand.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Zion St. John Lutheran Church of Sheffield in her name.

Visitation:
