Phillip L. Bolz, 67, Mason City, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday (February 7, 2007) at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th St. S.E., with Rev. Paul Nelson and Rev. Jeni Bohls officiating. There will be a visitation in the Fireside Room on Tuesday from 5PM ? 7PM at St. James Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa. Phillip Bolz was born September 29, 1939 to Leroy and Lillian (Wattling) Bolz. Phillip married Corrine Johnson on June 15, 1968 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Osage, IA. Phillip graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1957. He located over 200 classmates for their 50th class reunion in October. In 1959, Phillip enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1967 he moved to Mason City. Phillip retired in 1998 after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked part time in the pharmacy as a driver for Hy-Vee West. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, American Postal Workers Union, Church Couples Club, and served on church boards. He was called Rembrandt at St. James because he did a lot of painting with the James Saints. He enjoyed drinking coffee at Pro?s, watching T.V., especially the Chicago White Sox, (his team since birth) and collecting baseball cards, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Corrine Bolz of Mason City; one son: Daniel Bolz and Laurie Buchanan of Mason City; one daughter: Christine Hanf and husband David of North Mankato, MN, three granddaughters: Bailey and Allison Hanf of North Mankato, and Danielle Bolz of Mason City; his mother: Lillian Bolz of Decorah, IA; two brothers: Calvin Bolz of Longmont, CO. and Lloyd Bolz and fiancé Mary Pendergraft of Decorah; one nephew, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father.
